Not long ago Kelly Burgess hosted The Fort Project. She asked people to participate by creating a fort and filling it with things that were special, meaningful or valuable to them. Here’s her description of the project:
The fort project is a series of environmental portraits. I asked individuals to “construct a fort and fill it with what you love.” I referred to the structures as forts because I wanted people to begin thinking about concentrating their space and about self-containment, and forts are the first private spaces that most people create for themselves.
