5-Things-IconThis has been a great week, full of so many exciting and encouraging turns of events. I am more thankful for you, my readers, than ever. Without you, this blog wouldn’t be here, and we wouldn’t be growing the way that we are. I am more inspired every day to bring you better content, authenticity, and the kinds of resources I, too, need every day to stay inspired and creative. Here are just a few of the things that have been inspiring me this week.

1. Gwen Bell’s Best of 2009 Blog Challenge

Voted one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Social Media, social media maven Gwen Bell is elevating the good once again through her Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. I love the community Gwen has managed to build – over 400 bloggers are participating! (You can check out my posts here.)

2. CreateChristmas.org

My husband and our good friend and business partner Jeremy Clark have created an incredible forum called CreateChristmas.org. The site is a simple place for people who want to give this Christmas to find a family in need and to help meet that family’s specific needs. The site is a local effort this year, but we are excited about expanding it to additional cities next year.

3. Sara Bareilles

I love the song,”Winter Song,” written and recorded by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson for The Hotel Cafe’s Winter Songs album last year. The YouTube video is just too cool, so I ‘ve been watching some of Sara’s other videos. She’s so talented. I think I could listen to her all day.

4. Holiday Reading Lists

David Sherwin at ChangeOrder just posted his 2010 Holiday Bookshelf, The New York Times has listed their “10 Best Books of 2009,” and Gwen Bell has Best Book in her #best09 challenge list. Too many good books, accompanied by so many great reviews! Where will I ever start?

5. Creative Gift-Wrapping Ideas

My mom is more into gift-wrapping than anyone else I know, so I have developed a special appreciation for coordinated papers and a perfectly tied bow. Turns out that the hand-made trend is strong in the gift-wrapping arena, as well. I love this ABC gift-wrapping tutorial on Design*Sponge, and this Etsy tutorial is super fun.

Hope you have a lovely, inspired, creative weekend!
