I’m in Nashville this weekend house-hunting and spending time with friends and family. I thought I’d take a minute to share a few things that are inspiring me this week.
1. Holly Kaiser | Sta-J Designs
My friend Holly surprised me this weekend with an adorable scarf that she crocheted for me. Holly is a talented crafter, but she really gets into her groove when she is creating a custom piece, and I always love seeing her creations. She told me she already has ten to twelve custom orders for the holiday season. We just recently launched her website (www.Sta-JDesigns.com), and I am so excited to see where this journey takes her.
2. Endless Possibilities
It seems like every where I read lately, the topic of story comes up – from Donald Miller’s new book to this article by Fast Company about effective resumes. A good story that grabs a reader’s attention has an intriguing beginning, an inspiring middle, and an epic ending. Donald Miller talks about crafting your life into the kind of story you want to tell; Fast Company presents a new take on crafting a resume so that it tells a story rather than presents a series of facts.
When you think of your life as an ongoing story, endless possibilities begin to open up. Will it be a romantic story, or a comedy? Will there be epic moments of adventure, or tear-filled intimate moments with family and friends? Will there be tragedy? And how will you (the protagonist) overcome and move from one stage of the story to the next?
3. Scarves
I can’t help it; I love them. Fall is here, and I am immersing myself in every glorious fall afternoon. RVA recently posted a fun little blog called, “Too Many Scarves? Never.” I am so right there.
This is a short post, so I’d love to hear the things that are inspiring you this weekend. I hope you have a lovely, inspired, creative week, and I look forward to hearing from you in the comments!
