This Week: Journal in Pictures
Last week after hearing about Moleskine’s 13 Book d’Autore project, I decided to try journaling a week of my life in my Japanese album-style Moleskine.
Since I usually journal with words, in a regular, lined journal, this exercise has been challenging and fun. Finding ways to express my thoughts or document my day in pictures is working parts of my brain that I don’t usually tap. I’m a graphic designer by day, so this exercise has been especially helpful. Besides just being fun, exercises in communicating with pictures rather than words bring a fresh perspective and improve creativity on the job front, as well.
I’m excited about sharing pictures of my finished project with you later this week when it is finished. In the meantime, I encourage you to try out this exercise. I’ve found keeping my Fuji Instax and colored pencils on hand really helps.
If you take photos of your work and post them on Flickr or your blog, please share a link in the comments below!
