Art is Everywhere. This Week: U2 360 Tour
“Art is everywhere. It finds its origin in everything and ultimately reflects the beauty of the Creator.” – Chris Wilcox, Chris Paul Design, LLC
I had an incredible weekend. First, on Saturday, my husband and his two brothers and I went to the Notre Dame v. Michigan game in Ann Arbor. It was my first in-stadium football game experience, and it was a heart-breaker.
All that disappeared into the background on Sunday, though, when we went to Chicago to see U2 at Soldier Field. We love Snow Patrol, and they did an amazing job opening the show. However, we were completely floored by all of the creativity and excellence that went into the U2 show. I also really appreciated the political sentiments – from supporting freedom in Iran to the One movement (with an incredible video of Archbishop Desmond Tutu) to the Burmese elected Prime Minister Aung Sang Suu Kyi. U2 also demoed a beautiful new song called “Your Blue Room” during the Sunday performance.
So much creativity was poured into this event. It was my first time to see U2, and it literally blew every other performance I have ever seen out of the water. I wasn’t able to find any really clean, clear videos of the show on YouTube, but this compilation video is a great representation of the overall show. If you have some free time, I encourage you to check out the other videos that have been posted. It was truly an amazing experience.
